Summer Scrap Project

I'm taking part in Em's Scrap Happy Challenge and have decided to finish a hexagon project I began LAST summer.

As I work in a school, I am blessed with SIX WEEKS' holiday, so I'm hoping I'll get lots done!

Happy Scrapping!

Laptop or Desktop - What Should I Choose?

Finally, I'm going to be forced to replace that old PC.  Now my dilemma is whether to go for one of these

or another desktop.

It'll be a while yet before I can afford it so plenty of time to make up my mind!  I did think the other evening that it would have been great to have a nice laptop to play with while John was watching the world cup...

I'm trying to get this post typed in as quickly as possible because my ancient computer keeps switching itself off every few minutes.  At the moment, I can switch it back on again, however, I really don't think that's going to last much longer.  Looks like I'll have to start saving for a newer model - this one's not done badly seeing as I bought it second hand about six years ago!

I thought I'd show you this seat pad I've just finished, this side matches a table runner I made for my hallway - I had a block left over.

Never being one to waste anything, I used some of my scrap drawer to make the other side

and here's a sneak peek at some things I've been working on in front of the incessant and very depressing World Cup that John insists on watching - even though England seem to have no chance!

I love these colours.  Better go now before the computer really starts to annoy me...

May I interest you...?

...in my new blog From the Yellow House.  I'm having a giveaway to introduce the blog, which will mainly be featuring items I'm hoping to sell in my Folksy shop and at craft fairs.  Please feel free to enter!

I'll be going to the Yellow House in a week or so and spending some quiet time in the sun with my notebook and camera looking for inspiration.  That is, of course, if I can tear myself away from the hexagon patchwork I'm taking with me to work on when I'm not out in the fresh air!

I love it when the poppies come out in my garden but unfortunately they don't last long, so here they are!

10 June 2010

June is the most attractive month in my garden so I thought I'd take a few pics to show you all. You might notice that I have quite a lot of Aquilegia (Granny's Bonnets). These are one of my absolute favourite flowers and I've grown many of the ones in my garden from seed.

There are also one or two of the veggie and fruit patch, this one shows the raspberries and strawberries, with a redcurrant bush in the foreground.  There are one or two garlic bulbs dotted around this bit.

Then there are the blackcurrants and rhubarb

Geraniums are another favourite of mine, I've planted several varieties but I like this one the best, Johnson's Blue.

Hope you liked the tour!
